The historic artifacts, documents, books, and photographs that tell Manchester’s story from its beginning in 1761 are safely housed in the lower level of the Manchester Community Library.

The items in the collection have been accumulating since the early 1900s and they remain the heart and soul of the society and its purpose.

There are thousands of photographs, documents from the Revolutionary War and the Civil War, albums, scrapbooks, paintings and untold number of memorabilia.

The process of digitizing the photos, many of which can be seen for the first time here on our website, is ongoing. The cataloging of all the items in our possession is being done by Wes Hill, our curator, and several volunteers.
